Doug on the Internet

In November 2011, Doug became notorious among his groups of friends for his Tumblr account, "Doug Thoughts". Quickly, he discovered that when he would post signature .gifs, it would quickly attract attention, Tumbling across the internet. He became addicted to the thrill[citation needed].

A Doug Cojohnston classic, circa 2011.

The next month, after being bugged about it by Peter Staunberg and Joshua Bloom at great length, Doug Cojohnston finally broke down and decided to get a created a FB account. Rather than using Facebook for socializing and events, however, he would simply post more weird things.[1] Although he was defying the structure and intention of Facebook, he quickly discovered that his strange brand of comedy would get "likes" and "comments",

Doug Cojohnston's style is in the vein of neo-Pop Art, deconstructing the very notion of a 'meme'[2] by mocking the idea of any 'point' or 'gag;' instead, he mashes up a series of bizarre elements with pop icons[3] and brands[4] to create a sense of overwhelming irrationality; often the images move quickly to overwhelm the senses and confuse the eye.[5]
